(These are Android Apps, but they may have iOS as well.)

  • The Bible Project App: I enjoy the Bible Project products for many reasons, the first of which would be their insane ability to help you actually understand what the original scriptures were trying to convey. Tim reads the original language of the passage and translates as he’s going. He and Jon discuss what those words mean, what they meant during that time, and what they might mean today.

Their videos are high quality visually as well as verbally, and kept fairly short, helping to keep you engaged in the story at hand. I can’t even tell you all the ah-hah! moments I’ve had already, and they just keep connecting those dots for me.

They have a website as well, but I find the app to be more engaging. Read more about their incredible team at BibleProject.com/team.

  • The World Bible School App: This one I truly enjoy for its ability to take words of the bible and break them down into simple bite-size snippets, explaining the more difficult points as you go. They also connect you with a “study helper” who helps to encourage you, or just walk alongside you as you study should you have any questions. Learn more about them here WorldBibleSchool.org.
